Životopis
I am a basic researcher in neuroscience and cognition with a focus on neuroendocrine responses to stress, early childhood adversity, life history strategy, and the formation of attachments in early life and adulthood. I study how individual differences in reactivity to stress mediate depression or resilience and alter attachment processes. Current research examines etiological factors in men with violent sexual interests and paraphilias, and the role of behavioral and emotional synchrony in attachment and sexual/romantic health.

Academic writing and presentation skills
The aim of this course is to provide practical experience and guidance about structuring and writing research papers in psychology. At the beginning, lectures will cover pertinent information about how to conduct proper literature reviews, writing style and APA format, and the specific logic of the methods and results, introduction and discussion, and abstracts. Then you will be given a data set from a study and its methods. You will have to conduct your own literature review on the topic and then write a short but complete paper with an abstract, introduction, methods, results, and discussion, along with a reference section, all in APA format. Following this exercise, you will be exposed to the Paperchase method of group writing, using another data set from a different study and its methods. The groups will write up their papers and submit them. However, each group member will present an individual paper that is a refinement of the group effort. Class attendance is mandatory. Everything presented in the lectures and during the writing activities are critical to do completing the assignments.
Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences
YBAJ189 Winter Liberal Arts and Humanities 4 kr.
Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences
The course will provide a step-by-step introduction to fundamentals of quantitative research methodology and data analysis. It will introduce you to statistical thinking, interpreting and reporting results from statistical analyses, and will provide hands-on learning activities using a free easy-to-use statistics software (JASP). The course will be especially beneficial to students who are interested in psychology and sociology.

Statistika v psychologickém výzkumu III.
This course aims to guide students to become more familiar with more advanced statistical models, principles of how to choose an appropriate statistical test for a more complex research design and will learn to independently perform relevant tests in SPSS, JASP, and Mplus statistical programs. They will also acquire the ability to verbally describe the results and understand this description in empirical quantitative studies. The focus of this class will be on latent variable modeling in the forms of Structural Equation Modeling and Multilevel Modelling.
Health Psychology
YBLS023 Winter Liberal Arts and Humanities 4 kr.
Health Psychology
The students will learn about the biopsychosocial model of health and illness. We will explore the social and psychological determinants of good physical and mental health. Through experience the students will learn about the promotion of health behavior. At the seminar the students will have to journal their own health behavior in a selected topic. Through discussions the students will formulate hypotheses about the difficulties people face when maintaining health behavior. The students will have to write an essay of 3-5 pages long in their own selected topic. The students will form groups and plan an awareness day or an intervention program in the selected topic and present to the participants of the seminar. The planned activities on this seminar will be lecturing, reading, writing, discussing key topics of health behavior, and student presentations.

Souvislost mezi parafilními zájmy a sexuální viktimizací v České republice
Anotace:
This thesis explores the association between sexual victimization and paraphilic interesets in the Czech Republic using data from a nationally representative sample. It examines the prevalence of paraphilic interests and investigates whether individuals with a history of sexual victimization are more likely to exhibit these interests. Specifically, two hypotheses will be tested: 1) Individuals with a history of sexual victimization will report higher levels of paraphilic interests compared to those without such experiences, and 2) childhood victimization will have a stronger association with paraphilic interests than adulthood victimization. Paraphilic interests and victimization experiences are assessed through self-report measures, and multiple linear regression analyses are conducted to examine the relationship between victimization timing and paraphilic interests.
The association between rape myth acceptance and sexual violence victimization
Bachelor2025/2026Benmammar Leila May
The association between rape myth acceptance and sexual violence victimization
Anotace:
Evidence suggests that rape myth acceptance is a risk factor for committing sexual violence, but can it also increase the risk of sexual victimization? This thesis will examine the association between rape myth acceptance and sexual violence victimization experiences in adulthood. Among survivors of sexual violence, the thesis will also examine whether individuals with higher levels of rape myth acceptance are also less likely to have sought help or report the incidence. Finally, the student will examine which types of sexual violence victimization are most strongly associated with rape myth acceptance.
Metody:
The student will use multiple linear regression to examine the association between rape myth acceptance and various types of sexual violence victimization (e.g., harassment, penetrative rape). Logistic regression will be used to test the association between rape myth acceptance and help-seeking post victimization. Data will be collected via standardized self-report measures that are part of a larger ongoing online survey. The student must learn to conduct statistical analyses using the software, JASP.
The association between sexual offense-supportive cognitions and childhood adversity
Master2025/2026Turbina Daria
The association between sexual offense-supportive cognitions and childhood adversity
Anotace:
This thesis will explore the associations between adverse childhood experiences and cognitions supportive of sexual offending against adults and children, and how this association involves insecure attachment style. As part of the thesis preparation, the student will be involved in the preparation of the survey, data collection and quantitative analysis.
Metody:
Data will be collected by an online survey containing standardized self-report measures of offence supportive cognitions, attachment style, and childhood adversity (physical and emotional abuse and neglect, and sexual abuse). Data collection will be complete by January 2026. The student will use either JASP or R to conduct multiple linear regression and mediation analysis to examine the links between childhood adversity, attachment and sexual offending.

The association between steroid hormones and social network characteristics in children.

Volné téma
The association between steroid hormones and social network characteristics in children.
Anotace:
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and cortisol are steroids hormones that may be involved in the development of children's social perception and behavior. For example, as children approach adolescence, increases DHEA are associated with a shift towards social hierarchies, while increased cortisol reactivity is associated with greater sensitivity to social evaluation. Dr. Lindová's lab has conducted a study examining social behavior in Czech school children and measured DHEA and cortisol in saliva while children performed interactive activities in their classrooms. The student will examine how levels of these hormones relate to social network parameters, interactions with same vs. opposite sex peers, and friendship nominations. The student will focus on conducting a thorough and comprehensive literature review and analyzing data. This includes familiarizes themselves with some basic topics in psychoneurendocrinology, as well as social developmental psychology.
Metody:
Social network characteristics have already been obtained from behavioural observation of students and self-report questionnaire. The student must learn to use JASP to conduct a multiple linear regression to explore the relations social network characteristics and salivary hormone levels.
The association between paraphilic interests and sexual offense-supportive cognitions in a non-offending sample
BachelorNaN/NaN
Volné téma
The association between paraphilic interests and sexual offense-supportive cognitions in a non-offending sample
Anotace:
Sexual offense-supportive cognitions are beliefs that justify, excuse or minimize sexual offending. These cognitions increase the risk of sexual offending. These cognitions may develop after a person offends to reduce guilt, which can then increase the risk of subsequent offending. Since individuals also experience guilt if they have paraphilic interests (e.g., pedohebephilia), this project will examine whether offence-supportive are also present in people with sexual interests in minors or violence who have not offended.
Metody:
The student will perform quantitative analyses (e.g. multiple regressions) to examine the association between the offense-supportive cognitions and paraphilic interests (pedohebephilia and violent paraphilia). The data will be collected by an online survey (which will be conducted early 2026) using standardized self-report measures. Students must learn to use the free statistical program, JASP.
